Employer Spotlight: Victim Services Center of Montgomery County

We are the only non-profit, comprehensive crime-victim agency serving Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Our confidential services are provided at no cost to survivors of crime and their loved ones. Our vision is to empower the community and to aid in the creation of a society free from violence. Our mission is to provide advocacy and counseling for all who have been affected by sexual violence and other crimes against the person, and to promote sensitivity and awareness in the community through education.

VSC has volunteer positions open. By volunteering, you can help to fulfill the organization’s mission, enlighten its operations and engage the community in its activities. All volunteers must successfully complete a state-mandated, 65-hour training course administered by VSC.

Volunteers help survivors by:
-Providing coverage for the organization’s 24-hour hotline
-Provide crisis counseling, trauma-informed response to crime victims
-Provide accompaniment and support for victims in local emergency rooms and during police interviews
-Help engage the community in VSC activities and share VSC’s mission
-Help staff information tables at community-wide events
