Seattle Rep puts theater at the heart of public life. Founded in 1963 and winner of the 1990 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre, Seattle Rep is currently led by Artistic Director Braden Abraham and Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann. Over a season and throughout the year, Seattle Rep collaborates with extraordinary artists to create productions and programs that reflect and elevate the diverse cultures, perspectives, and life experiences of the Pacific Northwest. Seattle Rep’s nationally recognized programs include the New Play Program, Seattle Rep’s Public Works, the Next Narrative Monologue Competition, Pay What You Choose, and numerous audience enrichment and engagement opportunities including post-play panels, discussions, and community events.

Opportunities Available:

Duration: Seattle Rep’s 2023/24 Season runs August 2023 – June 2024. Apprenticeship contract start/end dates will vary by department.
* Directing/Artistic: Full-time (40 hours per week) for up to 35 weeks, with some sabbatical time. In addition, a limited amount of overtime will be available during tech weeks.
* Lighting Design, Production Management : Full-time (40 hours per week) for up to 36 weeks, with some sabbatical time. Weekly hours will vary based on the needs of each production but a minimum of 32 hours per week can be expected. In addition, a limited amount of overtime will be available during tech weeks.
* Stage Management (2 Positions): Full-time (40 hours per week) for 26 – 31 weeks, with some sabbatical time. Weekly hours will vary based on the needs of each production but a minimum of 32 hours per week can be expected. In addition, overtime will be available during some rehearsal and tech weeks.
* Props, Scenic Art (Paints): Full-time (40 hours per week) for 31 weeks, with some sabbatical time. Weekly hours will vary based on the needs of each production but a minimum of 32 hours per week can be expected. In addition, a limited amount of overtime will be available during tech weeks.
* Development: Full-time (40 hours per week) for up to 35 weeks, with some sabbatical time.
* Youth Engagement: Part-time (20 hours per week) for up to 39 weeks.
* Social Media: Full-time for up to 46 weeks with some sabbatical time.
