Arcadia’s Career Fest 2025 on October 8th helped connect more than 100 students with employers from across the industries! This block party–style career event provided Arcaida students and our employer partners a fun and relaxed environment to chat and network. Many students had follow-ups and interviews with employers after the events, and some even received job offers! 🎊 Let’s hear from our Knights about their experience at Career Fest 2025:

Q: How many employers did you connect with at the event?
A: I loved the career fair, and it was one of the first ones I remember attending. I got to talk with over 5 employers, many were substitute teacher opportunities, and a few others, like City Year and PITT.
Q: What kind of follow-ups did you have after the event?
A: I had contact with City Year before the career fair, and I had follow-ups with both PITT and Quaker School at Horsham, and even secured a job offer with PITT.
Q: Any advice for fellow students who are looking for jobs/internships?
A: I think students should take the chance to attend these events even if they feel like some of the recruiters don’t match their major. As a Psych major on the Pre-Med track, I thought that I would not be able to find anything to bring me closer to my field (at least during this career fair), but I unexpectedly did. And this employer has a connection with people working in the field I hope to join soon (Psychiatry). Overall, a great experience and easy way to form connections.

Q: How many employers did you connect with at the event?
A: Although I got to connect briefly with almost all of the employers due to me working at the event itself, I connected with at least 4 of the employers, all of them being connected to or working with the branches of the Psychology department (I am a psychology major) whether that be them working as school counselors, mental hospitals, or even nursing homes for elderly and people in need.
Q: What kind of follow-ups did you have after the event?
A: I had Various follow ups with the lovely employers I met. I submitted my resume through email to all of the employers that I felt most interested with and I connected with one and now I have an Interview in November! I am super excited to see the results of my networking at the Career (Fest).
UPDATES in November: “The interview went really well and I was offered an internship position for PITT on the spot!”
Q: Any career development tips you want to share with our students?
A: I feel like the Career (Fest) and also the Office of Career Education itself has really helped me gain some introspect on building my resume and being able to network with employers. I am super appreciative of not only (career events) occuring every semester but for the staff at the OCE department. They have helped me become the networker/employee that I am now and they have helped me build the confidence of speaking to an employer and building some strong experience on my resume regarding my major. I cannot give thanks enough to Dr. Cynthia Nicholas who has been dedicating time to me and has been helping me practice building my career experience professionally. Without her I don’t think I would have been able to even get this experience that I have now. I also want to give thanks to Sonia Blount for not only hosting this event but also trusting me to work this event and help out with planning and any tasks she needed me to do.
