2023 National Student Data Corps (NSDC) Data Science Symposium
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 2023 National Student Data Corps (NSDC) Data Science Symposium (DSS)!
The DSS will provide a virtual forum for undergraduate, graduate, and recently-graduated students (within the past 12 months) at higher education institutions around the world who are interested in data science to create and present data science research projects and to expand their data science community.
Student participants will receive an extensive network of support, including virtual mentoring calls, hosted by the NSDC HQ and Mentor teams, to help them better understand the best data science research techniques. Student submissions include a one-page, virtual poster board, and a 7-10 sentence abstract. (https://bit.ly/2023-dss-students)
We’d also like to invite academic/industry/non-profit professionals, researchers, and graduate students to participate as mentors, judges, or both! (https://bit.ly/2023-dss-mentor-judge)
The NSDC DSS webpage (https://nebigdatahub.org/nsdc/2023-nsdc-dss/) provides more information about the event, including step-by-step instructions on how to participate, research prompts and challenges, free resources, and FAQs.
Important dates: Student poster submissions are due July 31st, 2023, by 11:59 pm ET. Winners in the undergraduate/community college and graduate student cohorts will be announced in Fall 2023, and the winners may be invited to present on a Zoom webinar to the international NSDC Community!
We welcome you to join us, and please share this invitation with others who might be interested. The event is free.
