Public Relations Intern

Based in Detroit and focusing on non-design roles within the global AEC industry, ABOVE THE FOLD offers Public Relations and Business Development internships for active undergraduate students in spring, summer, and fall semesters.Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

This role is a career-building opportunity for students interested in architecture, public relations, business, and/or real estate to gain experience in a global, competitive, impactful, and ever-evolving industry.

Ideal candidates are motivated, detail-oriented self-starters interested in the built environment, the world, and making an impact across various contexts, communities, and cities.

Utilizing existing tools & templates, the Press Intern will support efforts to secure press placements for ABOVE THE FOLD’s roster of talent & firms.

Responsibilities will include researching and tracking global media outlets, updating press/media lists, strategizing press campaigns, and tracking short- and long-term opportunities and deadlines.

Daily tasks include monitoring the press@ email, assisting with time-sensitive press requests, and monitoring/adding global PR opportunities, such as print and online articles, awards, speaking engagements, conferences, exhibitions, and events.

Candidates should be comfortable using and/or learning Apple software/equipment and core applications (Mail, Calendar, etc.). The intern will also utilize and learn Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), Dropbox, and social media platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn.
