Job Description
Student assistants provide a student experience/perspective to programming and help to manage the administrative and logistical duties of the OAEDI staff. Student assistants have the opportunity to take part in meaningful programming and events that advance CABR/JEDI values at Arcadia University, and are encouraged to take ownership of events to build their professional skills. Student Assistants will have automatic membership as an AEDI Student Liaison. In this role, the student will represent their peers in creating structures for meaningful change and will commit to ongoing self-exploration of their cultural understandings and growth. Student assistants also have the opportunity to utilize a work-study allocation at OAEDI in order to balance their academic responsibilities and personal life.
Student Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist OAEDI staff with administrative duties to include, general maintenance of files, picking up or dropping off mail, copying, scanning and printing.
- Assist with creating marketing materials for the office to include, digital and print media.
- Update social media accounts with consistent, relevant and appropriate content.
- Capture photos, videos, audio recordings of OAEDI events.
- Greet visitors to OAEDI and take messages if staff or AVP are not available.
- Maintain upkeep of the office supply storage area.
- Assist with and participate in on-campus events that are OAEDI sponsored or supported.
- Participate in Scarlet and Gray Day and Open House Events which may take place on weekends
- Oversee one OAEDI sponsored or supported event per semester. We also encourage you to design, present, and implement your own programming ideas that advance CABR/JEDI values at Arcadia University with the support of the OAEDI staff.
- Participate as a student liaison member and commit to the tenets of AEDI, CABR and JEDI.
- As a Liaison, work with peers to identify AEDI goals, communicate goals to the larger community, attend bi monthly meetings and integrate AEDI efforts across campus.
- Must participate in Career Development Conversation.

- Must be a full-time registered Arcadia University student during the semester and dates of employment. This position is subject to be revoked if the student drops below part-time or is not registered for the current semester.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge
- Prior experience designing marketing materials with Canva, Photoshop, or other digital marketing editing software.
- Prior experience organizing events, coordinating with partners, and facilitating.
- Professional attitude and organizational skills.
- Skilled at using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Handshake and Zoom.
- Highly developed understanding and commitment to anti-racism, intersectionality, and social justice through either learned or lived experiences.
Duration of this Position
Student assistants must be able to work in-person in the AEDI office for a minimum of 1 hour per week. Student assistants typically work between one (1) to three (3) hours on two (2) to three (3) weekdays between the hours of 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. during the academic fall and spring semesters. Office Assistants must also be open to working one weekend event. Schedules are set up on a regular basis and can be reviewed/adjusted based on class schedule, exams, and other student responsibilities.
