JOB DESCRIPTION‐ List Full Duties & Responsibilities:
The Chapman Foundation is committed to providing high‐quality tutoring in Math and Reading for students in grades K through 12. Our learning plans are personally designed to meet students where they are and our low student to teacher ratio of 2:1 is designed to strengthen the relationship between the student and his or her tutor and to improve the student’s confidence.
The advertised position is a completely remote/virtual position in which candidates will tutor students in grades K to 12th in Reading and/or Mathematics. Tutors will provide instruction and homework help to students in Mathematics or Reading. Students are also assisted with their academic goals in school, state exams (i.e., PSSA and Keystones) as well as college entrance exams (i.e., SAT PSAT and ACT). Tutors will closely monitor students’ progress and help students build their confidence whether it comes to doing homework assignments or taking a big exam. This position requires that tutors get the following clearances prior to starting.
The Chapman Foundation will assist with the cost of clearances if the prospective tutor has a financial need. General Qualifications/ Specific Qualifications for the various levels/rates of pay associated with the position. Candidates should be at least college sophomores with a 2.5 GPA, able to provide transcripts, student schedule, and two references. Candidates should be able to show expertise in subject they are applying to tutor either through academic or prior work experience. Candidates should also be available at least one hour between 4:00 and 7:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and/or Mondays and Wednesdays.
