The IT Assistant will work with our Information Technology Support Services team, supporting students, staff and faculty in tier 1 technical support. The position is expected to interface with the community, offering outstanding customer service and technical and institutional knowledge. This position will work under the supervision and guidance of our ITSS staff. Success in this position will lead to further opportunities to specialize in computer hardware, AV equipment and customer service depending on the individual’s skillset.
Duties and Responsibilities
- End user support for basic technical support such as password resets, internet connectivity, event support and classroom technology
- Occasional event support for nights and weekends
- Zoom video support for classes and meetings
- PC setup and hardware repair
- Facilitate and/or assist in software or network related issues to student machines
- Answer student phone calls and provide assistance
- Act as an ambassador for IT and help disseminate important communication and updates to students that reach out to ITSS
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Customer service experience
- Interest in technology and willingness to take on new challenges
- Strong computer literacy
- Accountable and Empathetic
- Prior experience working with email or phone support is a plus
- A strong knowledge of Arcadia institutional knowledge and departments
- In person availability required with potential for night and weekend option
- Minimum expected work hours – 10 per week
