The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE) is hiring a Research Assistant to provide support to the institutional research staff in carrying out the data collection, management, reporting, and analytical work of the office. OIR seeks a research assistant who is comfortable working with quantitative data, has an understanding of basic statistical concepts, a high comfort level with computers, a concern for detail and the ability to learn new software.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the collection of data and information.
• Assist with data cleaning, coding, and the creation spreadsheets and reports.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of an institutional research web page
• Help with general office support including proofreading, filing, phone, copying, etc.
• Assist with institutional research projects as needed in the Office of OIRE
Requirements:
• A current graduate student who is an experienced user of Google, MS Excel, MS Office, and PowerPoint.
Preference:
• Preference will be given to a research assistant with experience in statistical analysis, SPSS or other statistical software.
• Preference will be given to a research assistant who has experience with web page development and maintenance.
Benefits to Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness: The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness has a small staff of two professionals whose focus is to perform analytical work and collaborate with the campus community to enhance the quality of the University’s data and promote the use of these data for reporting, research, planning, and decision-making. The research assistant is a valuable member of the IR team who performs some of the more basic tasks, such as data entry, preparation of charts and tables, proofreading, number checking, and website maintenance.
