OCE Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) for 25-26 academic year

Position Overview (18 hours/week)
- Track, log, and update student submissions to the e3 Career Action Plan using Canvas and Google Sheets daily
- Engage with professors requiring students to complete the e3 Career Action Plan to answer questions and provide updates regarding student progress as requested
- Provide support to undergraduate and graduate level students with resume and cover letter writing and practice interview techniques through individual appointments
- Assist ASAP program staff with student employee onboarding, followed by some ongoing OCE student employee mentorship and supervisory responsibility
- Assist ASAP program with event planning and execution
- Update student employment job descriptions and assist other student employment projects as needed
- Assist the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement with various employer related events, projects, and outreach
Position reports to Associate Director of Student Employment with some oversight by Associate Director of Employer Relations and Associate Director of Career Education (for E3 related work)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a full time graduate student for the 2025-26 school year (6+ cr)
- Available and willing to work for the entire 2025-26 school year
- Ability to work shifts during regular business hours (9-5pm) on Arcadia’s Glenside campus with some possible location flexibility
Required Skills:
- Self-starter with ability to manage an independent workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English and strong command of English grammar
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound judgement and demonstrated initiative
- Adept with MS Office, Google Docs, and Canvas
- Familiarity with services of Arcadia’s Office of Career Education
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student population
Training and Development:
The GSE will be trained on OCE’s resources and services, conducting practice interviews, developing resumes and cover letters, and reviewing job descriptions. Additionally, the GSE will develop career readiness skills of teamwork, professionalism, technology, critical thinking, communication, and equity & inclusion.
