What We’re Looking For
You don’t have to be an English major to share your Arcadia experiences. Bloggers contribute four written posts (with photography) or vlogs per semester and work with an editorial team to strengthen their content. Bloggers are also responsible for pitching topics and promoting their work on social media.
We’re looking for fresh, creative content that contributes to a well-rounded view of Arcadia’s academic environment, community, and global opportunities. We try to represent as many majors, interests, and backgrounds as possible. New to Arcadia? Even better! First-year students provide a crucial perspective for Because Arcadia‘s primary audience: prospective students.
Responsibilities
- Pitch four topics to be developed into blog posts or vlogs
- Produce work based on topics selected by editors, meeting all deadlines
- Provide original photos to accompany each blog post
Career Readiness Skills You Will Develop through this Position
- Communication – Being able to write or verbalize a given topic in a succinct but compelling manner; using social media to promote your work
- Critical Thinking – Answering editors’ questions
- Time Management – Adhering to a predetermined schedule in order to complete four posts over the course of the semester
Required Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs/Sheets
Work-study eligibility is not required. This is a work from home position. Work may be completed at any time, as long as deadlines are met. Bloggers/vloggers are paid $50/post for a total of $200/semester.
