Bishop McNamara High School is a private, Catholic co-educational high school in the Holy Cross tradition, offering its students a challenging college preparatory curriculum and a complete range of athletics and activities. The school is located in Forestville, Maryland, about 10 minutes from Washington, D.C.
Bishop McNamara High School has an opening to join the Science Department. The Science Department offers courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and 8 different electives. This is a full-time position for the 2026-27 school year, supported by a collaborative team of experienced teachers and mentors.
We develop young people whose scientific knowledge, understanding, and skills empower them to solve the world’s most pressing problems. We aim for our students to understand the role science plays in their lives, and accept their responsibility to act in ways that preserve and improve our global environment. Our courses teach students to design and conduct experiments that investigate scientific questions, analyze data both graphically and statistically, and communicate persuasively. Students who successfully complete our course requirements will have met the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) with an emphasis on the physical and life sciences.
