The Curatorial Office orchestrates the conception of exhibitions and collection installations, while simultaneously performing research on objects. The internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of curatorial work including the many phases of exhibition development, improvement and expansion of research skills, learning curatorial record keeping, and writing didactic texts. The curatorial interns will assist the Museum’s curators as they conduct research on the collection, organize future exhibitions, and select work for installation in the galleries. This year, interns will also work to research objects in preparation for an exhibition on the Battle of Brandywine in 2027 as well an exhibition on the intersection of contemporary art and environmental preservation. Other projects include research on the Wyeth family of artists and American illustration. The interns will work directly with the curators, performing tasks critical to the department’s advancement. An art or art history background and/or strong humanities training are required as are excellent writing and research skills. This internship requires on-site work in Chadds Ford, PA but also has some work from home opportunities.
