Full Time Sales Manager & Art Framer
Job Summary:
As our Sales Manager & Art Framer at Chris’ Craft Custom Framing, you will be responsible for providing exceptional framing services to our customers. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their framing needs and preferences, offer expert advice on framing options, and skillfully execute the framing process to create custom frames that enhance and preserve their artwork. Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining a visually appealing and organized retail environment, ensuring a positive and memorable shopping experience for our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
– Greet customers warmly and assist them in articulating their framing requirements.
– Engage with customers to determine their artistic preferences, style, and budget constraints.
– Provide knowledgeable guidance on frame selection, matting, mounting, and other framing options.
– Offer suggestions and creative ideas to help customers achieve their desired framing outcomes.
Custom Framing:
– Measure artwork accurately and assess framing requirements based on size, material, budget, and aesthetic considerations.
– Utilize framing tools and equipment to cut and assemble frames, ensuring precision and quality craftsmanship.
– Select appropriate matting and mounting materials to complement the artwork and enhance its visual appeal.
– Execute framing techniques such as mounting, stretching canvases, and securing artwork within frames with meticulous attention to detail.
– Handle artwork with care to prevent damage during the framing process.
Operational Duties:
– Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked framing workspace and retail area.
– Monitor inventory levels of framing materials and supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
– Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pricing, discounts, and payment transactions.
– Keep abreast of industry trends, new framing techniques, and product innovations to enhance framing service offerings.
Customer Engagement and Sales:
– Proactively engage customers in conversation to understand their framing needs and offer personalized recommendations.
– Educate customers on the value of professional framing and the preservation benefits it provides for their artwork.
– Upsell additional framing services, such as UV protection, conservation framing, and custom finishes, to enhance customer satisfaction and sales revenue.
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in custom framing or a related field preferred – but not required.
– Proficiency in using framing tools and equipment, including measuring and hand-tools.
– Ability to accurately read a tape measure and possesses basic/intermediate math skills.
– Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
– Strong attention to detail and precision in executing framing techniques.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a luxury customer-focused approach.
– Creative flair and the ability to offer innovative framing solutions to meet diverse customer preferences.
– Ability to work effectively in a steady-paced retail environment, mindful of work pace, production deadlines, and an ability to work systematically and to multitask with efficiency.
– Effective communicator with professional emailing abilities.
– Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs, and general computer skills.
– Flexibility to work weekdays & weekends. Standard schedule is Tuesday – Friday 10am to 5 pm, and Saturdays 11am to 4pm. (33 hours per week).
– Physical requirements are the ability to work standing much of the time. There is some lifting, bending, and carrying.
