City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson is the youngest member on city councilman representing the 2nd District of Philadelphia. His district area covers South, Southwest, and Central Philadelphia. These sections include, but are not limited to: such as Grays Ferry, Hawthorne, Point Breeze, the Navy Yard and Eastwick neighborhoods. The Councilman is always aspiring to provide opportunities for young adults. This internship program established in our office is one of those ways that the councilman can NOT ONLY inspire and provide young professionals with gaining real world experience, but also enlighten the youth on the importance of having a COMMANDING role in society.
The responsibilities for this internship vary, allowing interns to gain a wide variety of skills. These skills include general administrative duties such as answering inquiries by phone, preparing letters or resolutions, paying close attention to detail, multi-tasking, and basic operating knowledge of Microsoft office programs. Interns are also responsible for attending meetings and community events, maintaining a professional & personable character. All entries into this program are expected to arrive promptly daily on schedule dates, work well within a team environment, show efficiency within individual projects.
City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson’s three(3) – four(4) month internship sessions are unpaid, yet flexible, for-credit & possible work study positions, if your institution has those options. The program is open to all students seeking a valuable volunteer experience relating to:

As an applicant to this program, we require timeliness, diligence, integrity, organization, comfort ability working independently as well as in groups, experience with Microsoft office, flexibility, as well as positive communication skills in combination with a jovial spirit.
