Covenant Presbyterian Church is seeking an organist/pianist to support worship through proficient piano and organ playing for the glory of God.
Essential Skills:
- piano and organ proficiency
- vocal accompaniment experience
- experience with instrumentalists such as an orchestra
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sunday morning organ playing for hymns and potential preludes and postludes
- Sunday morning piano accompaniment for the choir, that includes Thursday rehearsal with the choir
- Piano or organ support once a month during communion
- Organ and piano accompaniment for special services (i.e. Good Friday, Christmas Eve)
- Piano accompaniment for Christmas Cantata every December, that includes Thursday rehearsals in the Fall
- Occasional accompaniment for both vocal and instrumental soloists that include rehearsals as well
- Responsible for scheduling piano and organ maintenance and repair through outside resources.
- Availability for weddings and funerals held at Covenant Church. This is a right of first refusal, we will call you first for this independently paid role, but it is not expected
Hours:
- This position requires a flexible work week that generally requires 6-10 hours/week
