Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Social Services Correctional Specialist Internship

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is a Drug-Free Workplace. We are looking for qualified candidates to assist social services staff in supporting programming at both Franklin County Correctional Centers by performing routine functions and helping with the day-to-day job duties of a Social Services Correctional Program Specialist.
The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems involving various variables in a somewhat unfamiliar context, collect data for annual reports, complete communication forms from the incarcerated population, monitor the program list, handle confidential/sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries/information, and organize and categorize the facility library.
The candidate will interact with the incarcerated population face-to-face on a normal basis. Knowledge of motivational interviewing, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and gender responsiveness is preferred.
