Objective:
We’re looking for a skilled Video Editor to craft, edit, and optimize scroll-stopping video content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and beyond. You’ll collaborate with strategy, creative, and production teams to translate brand stories into short-form content, staying on top of trends, meme culture, and platform best practices.
Essential Skills
- Video Editing Proficiency: Expert in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
- Short-Form Savvy: Deep understanding of trends, pacing, and aesthetics for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and social media culture.
- Creative Storytelling: Experience crafting original content and repurposing existing footage to tell cohesive brand stories.
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams (strategy, marketing, production).
- Technical Know-How: Familiarity with color grading, sound design, and simple motion graphics (After Effects a plus).
- Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain asset libraries.
- Adaptability: Quick to learn new tools, platforms, and creative approaches in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for timing, transitions, and overall polish.
- Passion for Engagement: Eagerness to experiment, iterate, and optimize content based on performance metrics.
Job Function:
As a contract video editor, you will:

Video Editing:
- Edit and assemble raw footage into short-form videos optimized for each platform’s specs.
- Implement motion graphics, captions, and sound effects to enhance viewer retention.
- Repurpose long-form content (interviews, event coverage) into bite-sized social clips.

Collaboration & Workflow:
- Work closely with strategists and creative directors to align edits with marketing objectives.
- Coordinate with producers to manage shoot deliverables, asset handoffs, and revision cycles.
- Maintain organized project files and version control.

Quality Assurance:
- Proof every final cut for technical quality (resolution, audio sync) and brand consistency.
- Ensure all videos meet platform guidelines and client specifications.

Trend Integration:
- Monitor platform trends, challenges, and viral formats; pitch creative concepts that leverage them.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional video editing experience (agency or in-house).
- Proven reel or portfolio demonstrating short-form social media work.
- Proficiency in editing software (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, etc.).
- Strong understanding of aspect ratios, platform specs, and compression.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to commit to 20–30 hours per month, with flexible scheduling.
