The Insurance Operations Quality Specialist utilizes technical knowledge and decision making skills to measure Insurance Operations performance related to quality standards including compliance with departmental procedures and processes. Specialists will be expected to write operational reports to identify potential non-adherence of said procedures and policies and meet with Insurance Operations leadership teams to provide additional detail regarding findings. Utilize analytical skills to review and analyze the various MAPFRE Insurance Operations Department’s automated reports, queries and workflows to address potential gaps, determine relevance and Management need. Works with automated systems to research data and technical problems and makes appropriate recommendations for their resolution.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. / Hybrid
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 – 6 years – or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 – 8 years.
Knowledge: General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform work requiring analytical business skills.
Decision Making: Makes decisions using broad management limits. Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation. Decisions directly influence project, client relationships and or expenditures. Additionally, decisions exert some influence on organization’s long-range goals and objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignments.
Supervision Received: Works independently under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy in meeting objectives.
Leadership: Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed. Takes a lead role in group, team or project.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction. Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives.
Client Contacts: Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Four years insurance operations experience strongly preferred
Proven analytical, decision making, and problem solving abilities
Excellent skills as a communicator and facilitator, both written and oral.
A demonstrated ability to lead team projects desirable.
Strong computer knowledge or background in Microsoft office products highly preferred.
Insurance course work and/or continuing education a plus.
