About AmeriCorps VISTA with NNCC (National Nurse Led Care Consortium):
The AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) program is a 1-year commitment where members are placed at organizations that are working to address poverty in the Philadelphia area. The VISTA members work on various capacity building projects throughout their service year. VISTA members receive professional development support throughout the year. VISTA members also receive either an end of year education award or a cash reward upon successful completion of the service year.
About the Host Organization:
While the Regional Interdisciplinary Collaborative Working to Disrupt Human Trafficking has made great strides in connecting organizations, it is clear there remains a lack of comprehensive networking of entities engaged in work to address human trafficking. Further, there remains a need to develop an understanding of the needs of entities who are engaged in efforts to reduce human trafficking in our region. To strengthen the network of stakeholders across the region, we propose to embed an AmeriCorps VISTA who will work to strengthen networks within the region. The VISTA will be charged with identifying human trafficking stakeholders in each state and territory and will then work to identify strengths and gaps of the region, based on the missions of these stakeholders. Further, the VISTA will conduct a survey of these stakeholders to understand their individual and collective needs. Teleservice available to candidates who reside within the region.
