Position Profile
Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) is seeking a US-based Business Development Intern to join our Marketing and New Business Team. This position is based out of our New York City studio but is remote optional. The Business Development Intern will support the early stages of project acquisition by researching prospective clients, markets, and opportunities. They help focus on the design of pitches and proposal materials, contributing fresh insights and organizational support to strengthen the firm’s competitive positioning. Through this work, they gain exposure to how creative projects are cultivated long before design begins.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, coordination, and production of portfolios, proposals, qualification packages, presentations, and other competition materials
- Contribute to the awards submission cycle and process
- Support communications and social media initiatives across multiple platforms
- Support the organization and management of assets
- Undertake special projects for the department focused on communications, business development, and asset management
- Provide administrative support as needed
Role Requirements
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a BA or advanced degree in Marketing, Visual Design, Visual Arts, Visual Communications, Communications, or related fields
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Strong conceptual ability and editorial strength
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills;
- Proactive approach to time and task management
- Strong attention to detail
Salary Range and Internship Duration
- Hours: 2-5 days/week or 16-40 hours/week (we can accommodate school schedules)
- Compensation: $20.00/hour
- Duration: Immediate and through the Spring 2026 semester.
