The Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking an experienced and mission-drive Clinical Social Worker (PCN 26543) to join and be a vital member our Clinical Services team in New Haven.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday
- First shift, 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
- Location: 34 Park Street, New Haven, CT
This position plays a key role in providing evidence‑based clinical care to a caseload of individuals living with serious mental illness, co‑occurring conditions, and other complex challenges. Responsibilities include completing a range of clinical assessments and delivering individual, family, and group interventions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure as a clinical social worker in the State of Connecticut.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing clinical treatment to adults with chronic, serious mental health and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience utilizing evidence-based practice techniques for treating mental health and co-occurring substance use disordered adult clients in individual and group treatment modalities.
- Experience creating client centered treatment plans, documenting clinical sessions and meeting documentation deadlines and productivity standards.
- Experience maintaining positive working relationships within a multidisciplinary team and outside providers.
- Experience assessing and treating clients in crisis with suicidal ideation and complex trauma.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice clinical social work pursuant to Sec. 20-195 (m-z) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
- Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. § 1320a-7b(f).
