Created in 2000, Susanna Lea Associates is an international literary agency with offices in Paris, London and New York. We work with diverse, talented writers of fiction and nonfiction – from debut novelists to international bestselling writers and award winners. We work closely with authors, publishers and producers domestically and in translation, across all formats and for adaptation to TV and film.

We are seeking a part-time intern who can join us in our Midtown Manhattan office 20 hours per week for the spring semester (January through May 2026), potentially continuing through the summer. This is a paid opportunity. Candidates must have US work authorization.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Administrative tasks such as mailing and receiving packages, reformatting, printing, scanning and filing documents, office organization, note-taking, and assistance managing the agency’s calendar
  • Reviewing submissions
  • Data entry (royalty reports, payment tracking, etc.)
  • Researching editors and imprints in preparation for submission
  • Communicating with publishers, scouting companies, and other publishing partners
  • Writing reports on manuscripts and working with agents to provide feedback/revision letters to authors

Candidates should be avid readers with strong writing and organizational skills, and have an enthusiastic, friendly manner. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, WordPress, and FileMaker (or other servers) preferred. Knowledge of French or another language is a plus.
