Externships at EEOC are designed to provide undergraduate, graduate and law students with the opportunity to gain hands on experience working on challenging projects and/or cases involving issues of federal anti-discrimination law. Externs work closely with experienced attorneys and investigators on a variety of diverse assignments. Extern work assignments may include legal research and writing, correspondence with Commission stakeholders on a range of discrimination-related issues, and assistance with charge intake and investigations. We encourage students of all majors to apply as our externship allows students to explore career fields in public service while gaining superior work experience. The Philadelphia District takes pride in providing an externship that provides students with long lasting relationships and potential job opportunities.
We offer internships for the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Our externships are hybrid style, with students coming into the office and working remotely. We ask that externs be available 10/30-40 hours per week for 6-8 weeks. Application deadlines will be listed below along with a link to access more information about our program. Students who are interested in applying should forward a resume, letter of interest and transcript to philadelphiainternships@eeoc.gov.
