WTHI-TV is seeking an experienced anchor. We’re a smaller market station, but we take news seriously.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Anchor weekday morning newscast
- Anchor and produce weekday morning cutins
- Prepare, write and edit scripts for newscasts and online and social networking products
- Produce newscasts for air
- Report news stories when assigned
- Be a strong storyteller
- Contribute story ideas on a regular basis, organizational skills and work under pressure a must
- Develop and maintain contacts and news sources throughout the viewing area
- Make public appearances
- Other job related duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Strong news judgment
- College degree in journalism or related field
- Valid Indiana or Illinois driver’s license and clean criminal/driving record
- Contract will be required
Special Skills (Preferred):
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure of strict deadlines
- Non-linear editing
- ENPS
- Web Publishing Skills
