Established in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to serving vulnerable children, adults, and families living in Philadelphia. Over the past century, the programs and services offered by LSH have changed in response to the evolving needs of the community. However, the core mission of Lutheran Settlement House —”to empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through an integrated program of social, educational, and advocacy services”— has remained constant.
Under the supervision of the BDVP Medical Advocacy Supervisor, the IPV Specialist is primarily responsible for providing individual and group counseling services and advocacy for intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors and their families as part of a hospital-based IPV prevention and response program. The IPV Specialist also provides training, technical support, and program development within their hospital site as part of the Medical Advocacy program. The IPV Specialist will be based out of the Temple University Health System, with one day per week spent at the Lutheran Settlement House main office. *On-site coverage pending hospital, agency, and city COVID guidelines.
