I love helping students connect the dots from their experiences at Arcadia to the world beyond campus. I lead the teams that support career exploration, student employment, study abroad, international student services, local community service, and getting out the vote. Director of Career Education
Dr. Cynthia Nichols has been called a “career architect” because she is dedicated to helping students build their career plans brick by brick. She is the Director of Career Education at Arcadia University, who also has 10 years of Human Resources (HR) experience. Her HR background provides her with a foundation for educating Arcadia’s students and alumni on the secrets of effectively navigating the career planning process, from the employers’ perspective. Dr. Nichols earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Arcadia University in 2023.
In addition, Dr. Nichols is an adjunct professor who developed the ID 125, 2-credit course titled “Design Your Career”. She enjoys teaching the 7-week ID 125 course each semester. Associate Director for Student Employment
As a lifelong learner and educator with wide-ranging background in the field, I am passionate about working with students and colleagues to blend unique lived experience with access to opportunity on campus and beyond. My role as Associate Director for Student Employment offers the chance to help student employees develop tangible real-world career readiness while building relationships that make Arcadia University the strong, supportive, resilient community we’re proud to call our own.
Associate Director for Employer Relations
Sonia Blount joined the team as the Associate Director of Employer Relations at Arcadia University. She is noted for her employer and career development initiatives at Temple University where she developed strategic partnerships with employers to enhance career opportunities for students and alumni. With a passion for connecting talent with meaningful professional experiences, she develops employer engagement initiatives, coordinates recruitment programs, and supports career education efforts that empower students to navigate their career paths with confidence.

Career Advisor
Alice joined the team at the Office of Career Education in the summer of 2018. She is passionate about helping students and alumni achieve their educational and career goals. She worked extensively with international students prior to joining Arcadia, drawing on her own experiences to guide them. Alice encourages others to discover their strengths, and empowers students to explore and transform their individual uniqueness into the career they have always dreamed of attaining. Her primary goal is to help others reach their full potential by thinking outside the box and taking the necessary steps to get where they want to go.
Administrative Coordinator
My love for education most certainly began with the time I spent every spring break as a youngster, watching and helping in my grandmother’s classroom in the Philadelphia school district. After graduating HS, I pursued a degree in Psychology at Camden County College/Rutgers and Wichita State University while also serving in the Army Reserves. During this time, I worked in early childhood education and retail. Working in these industries taught me a great deal about the power of education and the benefit of interpersonal connections. My most recent roles come from the mortgage and banking industry, working as both an Administrative Assistant and Loan Processor for commercial and home mortgage loans.
Working with a team towards a common goal to benefit the people is a common thread that I enjoy and look forward to here at Arcadia. What I enjoy most about working at Arcadia University is the unmistakable commitment to the students and their success, as well as readiness to achieve their highest potential starting right here!

In starting my Master’s here at Arcadia, I have had the privilege of working with students to build the necessary skills needed for their success. As the OCE Graduate Assistant, I am here to give you the tools that you will need to achieve your professional goals, as well as what you need to be successful as a student here at Arcadia, all from a current student perspective. In my final year in the International Peace and Conflict Resolution Master’s Program, I am ready to advocate for you, learn with you, and celebrate your accomplishments!
