Career Peer Mentors and Express Advising

Alexy is a senior student who is majoring in Biology. She is currently on the pre-physician assistant track. Alexy is very active in the biology department, so you might have seen her in and around Boyer Hall. Alexy loves to be around friends or catch up on movies and shows outside of school. She also likes to draw and crochet in her free time. She just learned how to crochet and has almost finished an entire blanket! Alexy wanted to work with the OCE because she wanted to help people who may be struggling with taking big steps in career planning. She will always be here and willing to help!

Lars is a senior student majoring in psychology. They find the field fascinating so far and look forward to being able to help people with the skills they learn in the major. Lars is excited to help fellow students achieve their career goals as a Career Peer Mentor in the OCE. In their spare time, Lars enjoys making art, laughing with friends, and petting any dog or cat who will let them.

I am a senior psychology major. To me, my major is something very interesting, I love learning about human behavior and why people act the way they do. You won’t regularly see me out in public because I’m usually on the game playing Fortnite, reading in my room or, working on a new crotchet project. I wanted to work in the OCE to be the stepping stone of someone finding a good job and I think it all starts with a resume.

Emily Soliman is a sophomore majoring in Biology in the 3+4 Optometry program. She is also a student-athlete on the swim team, so you might see her at the pool or around campus balancing her busy schedule. In her free time, Emily enjoys watching movies with friends and baking sweet treats to share. She wanted to work with the OCE because she understands the stress and anxiety that can come with writing cover letters and resumes, and she hopes to help others feel more confident as they take those important steps for the future.

Tori-Lee is a senior Politics Government and Law major with a Music minor. She is on the prelaw track and holds so many different roles on campus such as the president position of Black Awareness Society or even performing at Arcadia‘s annual Music Day concerts. During her free time, she likes to try to master new things, such as ceramics or kickboxing. Fun fact, she is a dancer and her most advanced form of dance is tap dancing. She wanted to work with the office of career education because she wants to help others connect to their careers. The primary goal is to get students what they need to get a job, internship, or even into grad school. She comes with open arms to all, and is determined to put her best foot forward to help students leave feeling accomplished. She is an asset and is always open to answering any questions!

Niyah is a Sophomore Student who is majoring in Psychology. She is very active on campus so you might have seen her in Boyer, somewhere in the Commons, working the food pantry in Knight or Oak Summit, or even at some of the basketball games cheering on the sidelines! Niyah loves to paint, write poetry, and listen to music! She also is a huge movie person and loves watching cartoons in her free time. She’s also a nature/ animal person, Niyah has an ESA on campus named Anubis who she loves to spend time with and cuddle! She is also very active. She goes to the gym often, takes a bunch of nature walks, and is involved in a student club on campus called TKC shake and stomp cheer. Niyah wanted to work with the OCE because she loves to help people, whether it be learning something or even just being there for people. She is super friendly and welcoming to all, and she’s a huge humanitarian and loves to help in any shape she can! She is always available to talk or help.
