Job description:
A portrait model presents themselves clothed to students in a classroom setting so that they can draw, paint or make a sculpture based on them.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Posing clothed for students in classrooms/studios
- Holding poses or facial expressions for extended periods of time
- Changing poses, facial expressions and gestures to display the impression the classroom instructor wants
Skills and relevant experience:
- Patience, as portrait models will need to hold certain poses for up to 3 hours at a time (with breaks)
- Teamwork skills, as portrait models will need to work closely with instructors and listen to their instructions
- Organizational skills, as portrait models may have several sessions a day or week and need to manage these
- Listening skills, as portrait models must listen carefully to instructions and directions
- Physical stamina, as portrait models need to be fit enough to sit, stand or lay down in various positions
- Confidence, as portrait models need to be able to pose in front of lots of different people
Hours:
Portrait models will be contacted by email towards the beginning of each semester by the Model Coordinator with available class sessions that need to be filled. Times vary by class but most sessions will be for ~3 hours.
Currently, there is a need for models for the following: Wednesday, Feb 7 & Monday, Feb 12 from 1:30-4:20pm.
Pay:
$60/session
