BASIC PURPOSE: Support financial and analytical functions of the Finance and Strategy Team for the Norwegian Cruise Line. Develop monthly forecasts and annual plans. Prepare, analyze, and present information on strategic planning and process improvement projects.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate the monthly accrual process for the marketing organization, which will include domestic and various international cost centers.
Engage with Marketing teams to track and report changes in Marketing spend.
Classify, update, and maintain an invoice tracker tool.
Reconcile invoice amounts against the Media Flow chart and budget trackers.
Develop various summaries and pivots for analyzing specific spending to inform decisions.
Assist in updating the monthly forecasts and annual financial plans for the Advertisement & Promotion areas under the Norwegian Brand.
Identify inefficient business processes and clearly articulate the reporting-based solutions.
Create and maintain documentation of business processes and procedures.
Support the month-end SG&A reconciliation and variance explanation.
Develop, modify, and maintain custom reports for ad-hoc needs to support business decisions.
Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights through commentary and recommendations.
Identify process improvements by partnering with the business to understand information requirements to develop automated processes and increase productivity.
Work with management to prioritize business opportunities and determine information needs.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Strategic Planning, or related field. Cruise line industry experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Advanced level working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Tableau. Preferably experience with data mining tools (Hyperion/Brio), PeopleSoft accounting general ledger, and Hyperion Essbase financial reporting. Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with team members and present recommendations. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with various internal business partners. Strong focus and attention to detail. Ability to manage ad hoc requests in concert with existing workload and shift priorities per business needs. Interpersonal skills to work successfully in a team-based environment.
