Job Description:
The Business Development Team Lead contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by overseeing the Business Development department. The Business Development Team Lead will work with other team leads and delegate tasks to interns within the department, assigning responsibilities based on their strengths and expertise. They will provide guidance and support to both team leads and interns, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles. The team lead will actively coach interns, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department. The team lead will also be responsible for assisting the CFO with strategic analysis which includes conducting a comprehensive analysis of our business model, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and utilizing market research, industry trends, and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions. Lastly, this leader must feel comfortable cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including potential sponsors, donors, and partners.
This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship will be 6 months, or at least until the end of summer semester on 8/31/2024. The duration of this internship can be extended.
Compensation: This is not a paid position.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Business Development department at ONC.
- Delegate tasks to interns based on their strengths and expertise.
- Provide guidance and support to team leads and interns.
- Assist in conducting strategic analysis of the business model.
- Utilize market research, industry trends, and competitor analysis for strategic decision-making.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, donors, and partners.
Requirements: The Business Development Team Lead should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- This role would be particularly good for MBA candidates or those working towards a degree in Business Administration, Finance, and/or related fields
- This role is mostly analytical, but if you are outgoing and willing to approach sponsors and/or donors that would be a plus
- Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict
- A self-starter who is willing to take initiative and complete tasks
- Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
- Google Workspace, Google Sheets experience a plus
- Ability to attend the weekly bi-weekly Organization-Wide meetings
- Ability to lead weekly Business Development Department meetings
- Must be authorized to intern in the U.S
