How do YOU kick-start your career in Facilities / Engineering Management?
Sodexo has paid Summer Facilities Management Internships throughout the country! (housing is provided).
Must be a rising Sophomore, Junior and Senior student pursuing a degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar from one of the following HBCU Schools: Florida A&M, Howard University, North Carolina A&T, Texas Southern University, Morgan State University, Prairie View A&M University, Alcorn State University and Jackson State University.
The Summer Facilities Internship will focus on maintenance, grounds, custodial,construction management, events management and project management. This internship will be a 10 – 12 weeks program at one of the following Sodexo accounts:
- Southern Baptist Seminary – Louisville, KY
- Shaw University – Raleigh, NC
- West Chester University – USH
- St Charles Borromeo Seminary – Wynnewood, PA
- Colorado College – Colorado Springs, CO
- Concordia College – St Paul, MN
- Claflin University – Orangeburg, SC
- Western Kentucky University – Bowling Green, KY
- St. Andrews University – Laurinburg, NC
- University of Tampa – Tampa, FL
The Intern will work with the Facilities Management department on a variety of tasks and assignments that will include assisting the team in Environmental Services, Maintenance, Grounds, and Project Management. In addition, they will be exposed to planning and conducting research on facilities management topics. The Intern will receive hands-on training in the Facilities department, work closely with Facilities management, be paired with Sodexo managers in a mentoring relationshipand receive professional development training.
Essential Functions
- Participate and learn the roles of facilities management
- Assist the team on store fixture planning projects
- Conduct research on facilities management topics
- Gather internal historical data on previous projects for future cost savings projects
Required
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team within an open office environment
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Must be a self-motivated individual
- Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Power Point and Word.
- Ability to commit to a full-time work schedule (40 hours per week)
