This position exists at the Maggie Lam Lab (https://maggielamlab.org/), University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. CO. There is no travel required for this position. Candidates should select a single campus location when applying.
Position Purpose:
The Student Assistant will perform molecular biology, biochemistry, and omics experiments as part of a research team, under guidance. Training will be provided in person.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for a variety of research tasks. Examples include organizing lab supplies, preparation of reagents, performing experiments, and documenting results. Experiments may include but are not limited to RNA and protein extraction, cell culture (e.g., iPSC), western blot, as well as transcriptomics, proteomics, and mass spectrometry sample preparation and analysis.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Minimum 0 to 2 years of research experience required.
- Must be a currently enrolled degree-seeking undergraduate or master’s student.
- Must be committed to working in the laboratory for a minimum of 10 to 15 hours every week.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, organized, willing to learn, and have a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to handle, carry, and lift objects in the research settings, up to 10 kg in weight.
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods during work hours, and frequently move (walk, bend, stoop, lift, and other physical motions).
Length of Employment:
Eligibility for this position lasts as long as the student is enrolled at least half-time.

The Student Assistant should commit to showing up for work diligently and punctually.
Pay Range:
$16.22 to $18.00 per hour.
