The Summer IT Assistants are individuals who have a strong desire to work with the IT Support Services Team during the summer months and help with larger projects. They will work to support students, staff and faculty in tier 1 technical support, including answering phones and triaging tickets. Other job responsibilities include working with computer hardware, AV equipment and customer service depending on the individual’s skillset. The position will interface with the community and the individuals will need to offer outstanding customer service and technical and institutional knowledge. This position will work under the supervision and guidance of our ITSS staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- End user support for basic technical support such as password resets, internet connectivity, event support and classroom technology
- Occasional event support for nights and weekends
- Zoom video support for classes and meetings
- PC setup and hardware repair
- Facilitate and/or assist in software or network related issues to campus computers
- Answer phone calls and provide assistance to the campus community
- Act as an ambassador for IT and help disseminate important communication and updates to students that reach out to ITSS
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Customer service experience
- Interest in technology and willingness to take on new challenges
- Strong computer literacy
- Accountable and Empathetic
- Prior experience working with email or phone support is a plus
- A strong knowledge of Arcadia institutional knowledge and departments
- In person availability required with potential for night and weekend option
- Minimum expected work hours – 37.5 per week
